Tourmaline Jewelry Across the Full Spectrum

Tourmaline grows in more colors than any other gemstone species, and we chase the full range: hot pink and rubellite red, mint and deep green, warm yellow, and crystals that hold two colors at once. Most of our tourmaline pieces are one of a kind, because the stone is. We set them in 14K and 18K yellow gold, often with diamond accents, cocktail rings, east-west rings, drop earrings, carved cabochons. A tourmaline earns its setting by stopping us mid-sentence. The ones that do are here.

Tourmaline Jewelry: Frequently Asked Questions

What colors does tourmaline come in?

Nearly all of them. Tourmaline grows in pink, rubellite red, green, mint, yellow, blue, and bi-color crystals that blend two hues in one stone. It has the widest color range of any gemstone species, which is why this collection keeps growing.

What is rubellite tourmaline?

Rubellite is tourmaline at its most saturated, the deep raspberry end of the pink-to-red spectrum. It is among the most sought-after tourmaline colors and among the hardest to find well saturated. A good rubellite stops us every time.

Is tourmaline durable enough for everyday wear?

Yes, with the right care and a proper setting. Tourmaline sits at 7 to 7.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, well suited to rings and earrings worn often, and a bezel or protective setting keeps its edges safe, which is how we like to set it. Clean it with warm water, mild soap, and a soft cloth, and leave ultrasonic and steam cleaners alone. We still recommend removing a ring before the gym or the garden, as with any fine gemstone.

What gold do you set tourmaline in?

14K and 18K yellow gold, often with diamond accents. Yellow gold makes these colors sing, from a hot pink cabochon to a tri-color stone.

Are these tourmaline pieces one of a kind?

Most of them, yes. When we find a tourmaline worth setting, it is usually the only one of its kind, and the piece built around it is too. A color you love is worth acting on while it is still on the site.
