Nearly all rubies in fine jewelry are heat-treated, an accepted, permanent practice as old as the trade that brings out the stone's best red, and part of what keeps beautiful ruby jewelry within reach. For collectors who want the rarer thing, we also keep a small group of unheated rubies with documented origin, loose and unset, reserved for custom commissions. Ask and we will show you.
