June Birthstones

Pearl for the luster. Moonstone for the glow. June's stones, hand-set in gold, watery and sun-drenched and made for the warm months. For your own June, or someone else's.

June's stones, the Elyzian way

Birthstones tend to be predictable. June isn't. Pearl, all opacity and warmth. Moonstone, all surface and shimmer. We pick them the same way we pick everything: if it doesn't look like candy, it doesn't make the cut. Each chosen for the kind of light it holds.

About Pearl. Pearl is the only gem grown, not cut. Ours are selected for luster, that deep layered glow separating a real pearl from a paint-by-numbers one, and set in 14k and 18k gold. Pearl is soft (a Mohs 2.5 to 4), which means it wants a little care and rewards a lifetime of wear. Best for everyday with intention. Best for gifts the wearer keeps forever.

About Moonstone. Moonstone holds a different kind of light. The good ones show adularescence, that blueish watery sheen that drifts across the surface as you turn the piece. Sourced from a small set of suppliers we've worked with for years. Harder than pearl (Mohs 6 to 6.5) and built for daily wear. Striking enough that it never reads as everyday.

About Alexandrite. A color-changing rarity that shifts from green in daylight to raspberry in lamplight, and one of the scarcest fine-jewelry gems on the market. When one passes our test, it'll appear here. Until then, it's a stone worth knowing about.

Set as drops, charms, and one-of-a-kind pendants. For your own June, or to mark someone else's. If you have something specific in mind, our team is a message away.

Questions about June birthstones

What is June's birthstone?

June has three: Pearl, Moonstone, and Alexandrite. This collection features Pearl and Moonstone, the two we source consistently from suppliers we've worked with for years. Pearl is the traditional birthstone; Moonstone and Alexandrite were added in the modern listings. Both Pearl and Moonstone are warm-weather stones, soft in feel, set here in 14k and 18k gold.

Do you carry Alexandrite?

Not in this collection. Alexandrite is rare, color-changing, and slow to source through our network. When we find one that meets our standards, it'll appear here, usually as a one-of-a-kind piece. Ask our concierge to flag you when it does.

Pearl or Moonstone, which should I choose?

Pearl reads as soft, warm, and timeless. Think first-job-promotion, wedding, anniversary gift. Moonstone reads as quiet but unusual, for someone who wears jewelry every day and still wants a stone that looks like it's holding light. Either fits; one fits you. Try both, or ask us and we'll match a piece to a personality.

Are Elyzian's pearls and moonstones natural?

Yes. Our pearls are real cultured pearls, grown not synthetic, and selected for luster and color. Our moonstones are natural, sourced from a small set of suppliers we've worked with for years. If you have a question about a specific stone, our team can confirm the details before you buy.

Is pearl jewelry durable enough for everyday wear?

Pearl is a softer gem, a 2.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale, which means it can scratch and benefits from a little care. It's perfect for everyday wear with intention: put it on last, take it off first, keep it away from perfume and lotion. Treated that way, it lasts generations.

How do I care for pearl jewelry?

Three habits cover most of it. Put pearl on after perfume, lotion, and hairspray, not before. Wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth after wearing. Store flat in a soft pouch, away from harder stones. Avoid steam or ultrasonic cleaners. Pearl rewards small care with a long life.

Can I get a piece custom-made or resized?

Yes. Much of our work is custom. If a stone here speaks to you but the setting doesn't, or if you want something built around a different piece in our archive, our concierge team can take it from there. Resizing on standard pieces is included where the design allows.

Is June birthstone jewelry a good gift?

It's one of the best. Birthstone pieces are easy to choose for (the date is the brief) and hard to outgrow (the meaning travels with the wearer). Pearl reads as ceremonial; Moonstone reads as personal. We ship insured, signature-required, with gift packaging included on request.

Shipping and returns?

We ship complimentary, insured, and signature-required across the U.S. on orders over $2,500. Returns and exchanges are accepted on stocked pieces; custom and one-of-a-kind pieces are final sale. See our Return, Exchange, and Repair Policy and the policies in the footer for the full details.
