Gemstone Cocktail Rings, Built Around One Stone

Some rings wait for an occasion. A cocktail ring is the occasion. Our gemstone cocktail rings are each built around one colored stone big enough to carry the whole hand: aquamarine, morganite, London blue topaz, opal, amethyst, turquoise, pink tourmaline. We handpick every stone, and most are one of a kind, because the gem is. We set them in 14k and 18k gold, in cuts from Art Deco to a single cabochon, and each earns its place the same way. If it doesn't stop us mid-sentence, it doesn't make the cut. Between you and us, that's most of the fun.

Cocktail Rings: Frequently Asked Questions

What is a cocktail ring?

A cocktail ring is a statement ring built around one large center stone, usually a colored gemstone, made to be noticed. The name goes back to 1920s cocktail parties, where women wore a bold ring on the right hand. Ours follow the same idea: one exceptional stone, set so it catches the room.

How do you wear a cocktail ring?

Wear a cocktail ring on the ring or index finger of your right hand, so it reads as a choice you made, not a commitment. It's meant to stand alone, so keep the rest of the hand quiet and let the stone do the talking.

Are cocktail rings still in style?

Yes, and more than ever, as more women buy jewelry for themselves instead of waiting for someone else to. A single saturated stone, an aquamarine or a London blue topaz, reads modern and personal in a way a plain band never will.

What size stone makes a ring a cocktail ring?

Presence, not carat count. Most of ours center on a stone of several carats, large enough to be the first thing you notice. We care more that the color stops you than that the number is big.
